Story for the Prose Workshop Challenge. Short, but I couldn't hink of whatto write (ahem).

For the prose workshop challenge. You had to write a piece based on one of four pictures. Mine's based on two instead. And a bit of Shelley.

For the prose workshop, based on this picture of Nara Dreamland, Japan. To save some Googling, mtoto means 'baby' and kisuse 'little scorpion' in Swahili.

Here are another cople of chunks from my Norse tale. Gorek, the old warrior has died leaving his twin boys Vidar and Fenris along with their step mother Ashild.

I have edited and re-edited this piece so I hope now it is somewhat better. If you have read it before I recommend you read it again as I have, hopefully, sorted out a few errors and changed my story completly into first person.

This is a chapter from my first novel. I thought I'd jump ahead a few chapters so here's the story so far. Luke has discovered his powers and proudly shown them off to his foster brother and sister. When they are sitting watching recorded TV, Luke accidently presses the fast forward button and a shocked Emma proclaims that she was able to watch the program at high speed and understand it all so they go up to Emma's bedroom to test her 'powers'.

A letter 'written' by an English man called Samuel to his wife. He was sent to a concentration camp as a Jew.

Hunter is a Private Detective character that I have made up and he hunts missing people until he finds them dead or alive. Mostly he finds them dead.

My entry for the latest prose challenge, which was to write a story where two or more people see or do something together, but each is affected in a different way by what they see or do. Now edited following some excellent crit from bluepootle, bigbadG, sirat and e-griff. Headless milkmaids added.

Seb Shockley has just written a best seller and he should be happy, but he has 1 or 2 problems. He is mourning the death of his mother from breast cancer and the suicide of his father, and he has an inoperable brain tumour; he’s lost all his friends, including his long term girlfriend, as well as his job because he keeps having hallucinations, and they’re getting more lurid. Then he gets what seems to be an answer to his prayers; there is an experimental cure – Resolimab – and he’s invited to take part in the first human study on it.

Chapter 5 of my novel. Cawdor's motive is revealed.

This is for my own challenge in the Prose Workshop forum: to write a story told by an unreliable narrator. Like several others, I think, I've deviated slightly from that brief, and what I've actually come up with is a character (rather than a narrator) who speaks in parables.

This is NaNoWriMo 2011 unedited so be warned! This is Chapter 6 & concludes this story and first novel draft. If you have been, thanks for reading/commenting. I really do appreciated all of your support. It's good to finally get this put to bed! It is the first entire novel draft I have completed.

This story is a few years in the making so far. I have most of it worked out but am trying to at least get the first chapter feeling right before moving on. It's probably not the recommended way of doing things but it just seems the way to go for me. Any critique and comments are welcome. Aaron

Sometimes honest citizens are driven to drastic measures by the plague of crime they are forced to endure. Politically correct policing and short jail sentences only encourage more crime. One man did something about it by using the skills he had acquired whilst defending the realm. He was a quiet retiring person who lived what seemd to live a mundane life. He was the last person you'd suspect of being an army of one.
