The story continues

This is the first chapter from my first novel, written for childen (orginally just for my son) aged between 9-14yrs old. 3 young foster children bunk off school to avoid bullies and discover an egyptian amulet which gives them super powers.

Try as we might, our prehistoric origins are hard to shake off.

For the prose workshop challenge, on the subject of cameras. It got me thinking about how we're all on camera all the time.

Christmas day 1914 some strange happenings on the western front. A story of the times when social attitudes were very different and hard for us today to understand. My father, born in 1902, was probably among the last of this generation.

Inspired by a newspaper headline that said "Sperm donors identity to be revealed".

Lost in the Nahanni wilderness, our hero attempts to flee a female Sasquatch who has a crush on him, but then decides he must abandon his self-centered ways when he discovers someone who needs help more than he does. But the right course of action is elusive when your perception of reality has been commandeered...

This is a journey from light to dark. When my father was in hospital dying, he saw a giant ancient warrior standing on the other side of the ward, opposite his bed. I like to imagine it was the gods of old England welcoming him home.

‘The Vampires of Gigilos’ is a short story of 8,750 words. Vampires are part of the folklore of some countries and have recently become fashionable in modern fiction so I thought I’d write one. I shall post it in the course of a few weeks and if I get encouraging comments I shall put it on Amazon.

After trying to escape a bad relationship by fleeing into the far-North, things get really complicated when our hero gets kidnapped by a female Sasquatch and taken to the beautiful, isolated Nahanni wilderness of the Northwest Territories, Canada.

I had a dream one night that I didn't know who I was. I dreamed I was taking tablets and I dropped them and two little children peered at me fearfully round the door. I took that image and made up this story.
