Extremely belated part 4 of 5, that brings the story round to the opening scene of part 1. This is a story I abandoned and have come back to. A little rushed maybe, but progress at least. Any thoughts welcome.

About the blues ...

I wrote this a while back - so in a way it's cheating a little bit - kind of autobiographical - and a turning point in my life.

This is just a little story about how life can be pretty crap and then suddenly something really small can change everything.

My entry for Beard's prose challenge, for which I had to write a story entitled 'Uh-Oh' which ended with the words 'seem so bad lately'. Had to turn to music for inspiration.

First part of a short story. (If people like it, then I'll also publish the remaining parts of it). Mark Hammell has gone to the pub, with his friend Davie, for a nice quiet drink. Now, though, he's got a busted shoulder and is at the local clink being quized by a bad tempered cop called Detective Donald McDonald. Can things get any worse?

WARNING: this is the most tasteless, crude & gratuitously offensive piece I've ever written. A sort of nasty stream of consciousness. I committed it to paper in the hope of getting through a spot of writer's block, but don't say you haven't been warned.

The first line came to me and the story was built around it. I never knew where it was going. This is my first try at fiction although a very short, short story. I wasn't sure of the Genre but I thought horror was the closest to what I suppose it is. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a reworked version of a previous story that people were kind enough to praise. I've only just taken up writing and it is the first story that I have ever spent a lot of time on trying to get right. I am extremely grateful to all those who took the time to read and comment on it last time. Those comments were immensely useful.

Third segment of something which might turn into a novel. The basic idea is that Charles has woken up in a new life that he knows nothing about. In this chapter he finds his old home infested by cats & his girlfriend doesn't seem to know who he is. On the plus side, he's a company director and has some nice suits.
