An unusual story (93,000 words) set in Liverpool, involving a death at a pharmaceutical company, research on the black death bacteria, animal libbers and several twists. I attach a short synopsis and two short introductory chapters. Is the first intro chapter necessary?

Fiction: The Garden - e-griff's 'Where is everybody?' challenge story - by e-griff (882 words) - Date online (28-04-2006)

Drama

This is my second one. The first was fairly predictable and in-house jokey, which you inmates would probably have a had a chortle at :-) but I felt unsatisfied, so embarked on this one, which is wierd. My thanks to Neil Ayres for the 'season' construction and sparking the 'garden' theme in my mind.

Fiction: The Waiting Room (Dogfrog's Challenge.) - by Romany (1132 words) - Date online (28-04-2006)

Philosophy

In direct response to Dogfrog's prose challenge (see below.) “There's a theory, one I find persuasive, that the quest for knowledge is, at bottom, the search for the answer to the question: ''Where was I before I was born'.' In the beginning was what? Perhaps, in the beginning, there was a curious room, a room like this one, crammed with wonders; and now the room and all it contains are forbidden you, although it was made just for you, had been prepared for you since time began, and you will spend all your life trying to remember it.” – Angela Carter The challenge is simply to write about your curious room... This was a real learning experience DF - thank you. Romany. N.B This is prose, not a story, and I have used a certain amount of poetic licence. Thanks.

I know this one is long but it's a mystery story where the clues build up, leading to a final denouement. I don't think it would work very well broken into sections. The few people who have read it said it didn't seem too long. Give it a chance! You can always stop if you get bored.
