My morning commute! It's actually more non-fiction than fiction, but seeing as it didn't all happen in the same day (thank God) I'm choosing fiction! Have ad-libbed slightly... My first attempt at humour so be kind ;) Oh, and contains offensive language throughout (no sex though, sorry!) Hazy x

Out of the still calm at the end of a normal space day came an attack by marauders. Alexis was sent away to safety, but there was nothing safe about that sector of space. The marauders were looking for him. The people who helped him on his way to find his parents told him a little about the Imperial Legion and their power of Thoughts, but what exactly was his connection with the Emperor and why were the marauders so desperate to find him? It was all very confusing, even more confusing when you had spent all your life in a small space lab and were totally unused to living anywhere else.

This piece is a short re-working of a character found in Albert Camus' The Outsider, Raymond Santès. Raymond begins the chain of events that leads to Meursault killing the Arab on the beach. I have quoted Camus' text twice, but I'm sure he wouldn't have minded. He was a goalkeeper afterall and even the best goalies let one in occasionally.

This is not an Article, but I couldn't fit it comfortably in to any of the other genres! It is my second attempt at writing a short story, in which I am much less confident than in my poetry. Your constructive criticisms will be welcome.

She said her sister wanted to hire me
Sam Spade didn't want her so, he dumped her in my lap
Her sister turns out to be Monica Malone
This tomato is only the most beautiful star in Hollywood

The begining

Hopefully, there should be room in this world for all hues of sexuality,
for aren't we all Jock Tamson's Bairns? Just a bit of fun.

I pull onto the deserted Floye Drive
The kidnapper's black Caddy is parked and silent
It sits, like a hungry shark,
waiting the other end of the undeveloped street...

She looks like a refugee from "The Book of the Month Club"
"Hand me that bottle, will ya, little sister?" says I
"Tell daddy all about it"

I've put it in the horror section because, seeinasow there's no real action, I don't think it could be classed as drama. Anyway, it almost horrified me when I was writing it ...!
